After earning a BA in History from the University of Tennessee, Elizabeth’s interest in design emerged during one of her first jobs as an intern in the interior design library of Holiday Corporation (once the parent company of Holiday Inn hotels) at their headquarters in Memphis. She moved to Bozeman, Montana in 1995 and worked with a well-known local designer, where Elizabeth firmly established a deep-rooted intuitive sense and passion for interior design. In 1998, she began working as a freelance designer and then went on to establish DesignWorks in 2000.
Growing up in the South, Elizabeth’s own style includes a blend of the traditional—antiques and rustic elements—but she has also grown to appreciate and be inspired by the contemporary, including clean, simple, linear touches. Over the years, Elizabeth has collaborated with home and business owners to infuse their interiors with a style sense that best represents their goals and tastes. She helps clients visualize and reinvent interior spaces, asking relevant questions to bring out and embellish their individual styles, often using objects and colors to help anchor rooms in subtle ways.
Elizabeth has worked on renovations and new construction projects, including ski homes and condominiums, hotels (both franchises and boutiques), a fishing lodge, and an entire ranch, from the main home to the guest cabins and recreation barn. In this realm, she works closely with the owners, as well as the architects and contractors, helping to design all or part of any project’s interior. The scope of her work includes but is not limited to specifications of space planning, paint colors, finishes, cabinets, countertops, flooring, wall surfaces, lighting, appliances, plumbing, fabrics, bedding, window treatments, furniture, accessories, and more, depending on each client’s specific needs.
